Green Steps tracks the paths of people and inform them of the environmental impact. The app evaluates the weight of environmental resources that are consumed in a journey based on the mode of transport, distance and route chosen. At the end of a trip, the impact of travel gives a score (100 is a very "green" journey!) and then eventually shared with friends through social networks and email.

The initiative
Green Steps is part of the "T.E.T.R.i.s." project of the NOP Research and Competitiveness 2007-2013, which studies and develops smart objects and smart cities for its fields of application focuses on emergencies, on environmental protection, sustainable mobility and services to citizens.
